Output Copies With Spool-Only Jobs

For example, spool-only jobs are generated when printing labels from SAP. The labels are generated in SAP, passed to PLOSSYS Output Engine by the OMS server and output to a label printer.

For output copies of the spool-only jobs, the seal-copier service has to be enabled in PLOSSYS Output Engine. The seal-copier service determines the desired copies of the job and sends the output file to the printer as often as desired. For enabling the seal-copier service, the useCopier printer key has to be set to Y.

If you use easyPRIMA for maintaining the label printer, this is how you enable the seal-copier service for this printer:

  1. In easyPRIMA, add the useCopier queue parameter. For more information about easyPRIMA, refer to the easyPRIMA documentation.

  2. Add the language-specific clear texts for this parameter to the language files (for example, tools/seppperl/language/edc_customer/de.pm for German) so that the parameter is understandable to the user.

  3. Export the queue to PLOSSYS Output Engine and check if useCopier = Y is displayed with the printer parameters in PLOSSYS Administrator.

The rules how the copies are evaluated by the seal-copier service are described in Set Copies. Normally, the copies are set in SAP_OMS_S_COPIES when printing from SAP.

Caution - no copies in spoolfile!

The spoolfile must not contain copy sequences! Otherwise, the copies are output in square number. For example, the spoolfile already contains a sequence for output five copies. PLOSSYS Output Engine sends the spoolfile five times to the printer. In total, you get five spoolfiles and five copies of each spoolfile, i. e. 25 print-outs.
